So we awoke earlyish and couldn't sleep so the girls went to the waterfalls with their friends, Vinnie went sightseeing, Steve left for Vietnam and I...went to Utopia and monged by the river! I literally spent all day on the veranda overlooking the river, slept there, ate there (I had to have pasta, carbs are my weakness when hungover) and watched the afternoon thunderstorm from there.
I then went back to the hostel where I met the girls, I spoke to Devyn on Facebook and we agreed to meet for a meal at the night market, Tanya and her group were also headed there. So we met at 7pm by the ATM opposite the Night Market, near where Devyn's guesthouse was, I saw Tanya and her group as I was waiting for Devyn, Julie and Sabrina (both from Denmark) and we took a quick browse through the night market, which is awesome by the way! We then went to a restaurant within the food market we'd heard about, it was a vegetarian all you can eat buffet for 10,000 kip (£1), it was an extra 10,000 kip for some BBQ'd chicken or fish - bargain! So we ate there and there were plans to head to Utopia to meet Tanya but we were all monging from the night before and just wanted to chill, so we went in search of Le Cinema, a bit like the ones in Cambodia, where you pay $3 for a room with a couch, huge tv and choose the film you want to watch.
However, we walked the entire length of Sisavangvong road, plus some side alleys and streets and do you think we could find it? NOPE. We even asked tour agencies, locals, tuktuk drivers...no one knew where it was, but yet everyone knew it existed! grrr. So instead we all just went back to our beds as we had decided to get up at 5.30am to see the Alms Giving with the Monks and then do the waterfalls around 9.30am.
